Mäntyharju Sports Office’s Focal Area of Operation

The Sport Office is the municipal body that creates the conditions and possibilities for engaging in various forms of physical activity in Mäntyharju. This includes, for example, the construction of new sports facilities, the restoration and maintenance of old ones, and making and maintaining ski tracks and ice rinks. It also involves supporting clubs’ training and competition activities and organising various sports events in tandem with them. Another very important field of activities is supporting physical education by providing sports facilities and competitive activities, and also planning and organising applied sports opportunities for special groups.

The popular Pappilanniemi outdoor recreation area, located near the centre, offers excellent signposted routes for taking exercise in these scenic landscapes. Along the route, you can take a rest at the Nuotioniemi lean-to shelter and campfire site.
